Monday, August 8th: Giddy up, partner! We are all about the outdoors here at the Frontier Lodge so we encourage our guests to head over to Baldwin Lake Stables this week for some horseback riding fun.  It is a perfect time to catch a one, two or three hour ride through the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains, or even a half day, private, or romantic sunset ride to view a “majestic mountain sunset, the kind that postcards are made of.”  Reservations and information are available over phone at (909) 585-6482 or online at baldwinlakestables.com.

Tuesday, August 9th: Every Tuesday residents and visitors visit the Big Bear Farmers Market from 8:30am-1:00pm. The market is a State Certified Farmers’ Market where shoppers enjoy freshly picked fruits and veggies from small market growers within a 100 mile radius of Big Bear Lake.  These local growers offer organic and natural produce and a wide variety of other food items including: fresh baked breads and pies, nuts, farm fresh eggs, honey and juices.  The Market also features unique gift items, arts & crafts, health and specialty products, soaps, lotions, and antiques.  The Farmer’s Market is located at the Convention Center on Big Bear Boulevard and Division Drive in Big Bear City.

Wednesday, August 10th: Waterslides, go karts, and Alpine Slides; Oh my! The Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is within walking distance from Big Bear Frontier and is a great treat for families with children before back-to-school time.  While you’re there be sure to check the whole family in for a round of mini-golf, which is 18 holes of pure family bonding!  The Alpine Slide is open from 10am until 6pm and riders may purchase a single ride or whole day pass.  A unique chairlift lifts riders to the top of the mountain and offers a “panoramic view of beautiful Big Bear Lake and the surrounding mountains.”

Thursday, August 11th: Be “one with the lake” by renting a fishing or pontoon boat from the Big Bear Marina.  Big Bear Marina also offers jet skis, kayaks and paddle boards and has a launch ramp if you own your own boat!  Located footsteps from the Big Bear Frontier Lodge our Boating Docks, guests are able to rent boats by the hour or day and prices vary by size.  For more information on Big Bear Marina, feel free to call (909) 866-3218.
