What’s happening in Big Bear this week???

Monday, July 18– Spend some time with the crew of the Fish Big Bear Charter Service.  Located at the Big Bear Marina, right next to Big Bear Frontier, they offer private fishing charters for your family and friends.  They can take up to eight people each trip.  It looks like Rainbow Trout are their specialty.  Visit this link for more information on Charter Fishing in Big Bear Lake. Tuesday, July 19– The Big Bear Farmers Market at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center starts at 8:30 A.M. every Tuesday this summer.  From antiques to brand new clothing, you are sure to find something that you can’t live without.

Wednesday, July 20– Visit Big Bear’s one and only Zoo.  The Moonridge Zoo Animal Park is open daily with animal presentations at noon.  The zoo offers group tours Monday-Friday and Senior and Military discounts are available.  Come to the zoo today and see the 160+ orphaned or injured wildlife that you will only see in Big Bear. 

Thursday, July 21– Join in on the fun at The Bowling Barn on Thursday nights.  Starting at 8:30 P.M. bring the family for Glow Bowling.  The arcade is jam packed with awesome games like Tokyo Drift and a pool table to challenge friends and family.

Friday, July 22–  The Old Miner’s Village Carnival is going on all weekend at the Village in Big Bear Lake in the Bartlett parking lot.  Families can enjoy the Carnival, complete with rides, food, games, music and crafts.   Friday Hours: 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday Hours: 11:00 am to 10:00 pm,   Sunday Hours: 10:00 to 5:00 pm   www.oldminers.org

Saturday, July 23– Join the 12th annual History Alive! Chautauqua presented by the Friends of the Library and the Old Miners’ Association.  Actors portraying colorful historical characters interact with the audience in memorable recreations of our past. This year’s character is “Lotta” Crabtree: Diamond in the Gold Rush. Crabtree turned a career as a child performer in the gold fields into a multi-million dollar real estate fortune in San Francisco. Performance takes place at the Summit Christian Fellowship Church and admission is FREE. www.oldminers.org

Sunday, July 24– Old Miners presents Burro Relay and Village Carnival.  See the Burros return to Big Bear.  Come watch a comical relay paying tribute to the rich gold mining history of the Big Bear Valley.  Contestants must make breakfast, stake a claim, pan for gold and analyze their pay dirt before reaching the finish line.  www.oldminers.org
