What to do this week in Big Bear

Monday, July 11– Today is the perfect day to visit the Moonridge Zoo.  Over the weekend the zoo staff rescued a young mule deer that was injured on the side of the road.  The staff at the zoo is friendly and willing to help just about any living creature.  For more information about the zoo visit http://moonridgezoo.org/

Tuesday, July 12- Alpine Slide at Magic Mountainis the place to be today.  Let loose on the water slide, toboggan ride, miniature golf or go carts.  They even have an arcade and snack bar.  For operating hours and prices visit their website.  www.alpineslidebigbear.com.

Wednesday, July 13– Fishing! Fishing! Fishing!  Here are some of the best spots to fish in Big Bear

Thursday, July 14– The Alpine Pedal Path, North Shore Drive at Stanfield Cutoff, Big BearLake. Trail begins across from North Shore Elementary School for walking, running and biking.  I love this trail.  http://bigbear.us/big-bear-hiking.html

Friday, July 15– Every Friday more vendors come out for ‘Friday Nights in the Village’.  There’s live entertainment, and the local businesses stay open late for visitors. Stroll through our beautiful village and enjoy the open air. www.BigBearLakeVillage.com

Saturday, July 16– The Big Bear Lake Chili Cook-Off is happening this Saturday. This sanctioned cook-off by the International Chili Society draws more than 40 cooks from all over the southwest to compete for cash prizes and coveted titles. But don’t forget the 50+ vendors and activities to make this a family fun event where kids can climb rock walls, eat snow cones, enjoy the live entertainment, and of course eat the chili!  For more details please visit http://www.bigbearchamber.com

Sunday, July 17– Head over to the Big Bear Lake Discovery Center and join in on the Pinecone Birdfeeders Class beginning at 1 p.m.  It will be fun for the whole family.  www.bigbeardiscoverycenter.com.
