There are pumpkins adorning storefronts and scarecrows in the Village to greet visitors and shoppers to create the perfect fall setting in the mountains. Head to the Pumpkin Patch

Picking a pumpkin in an old-fashioned country pumpkin patch is all part of the Halloween experience, especially for the kids. Head to Bear Valley Farms to enjoy a pumpkin patch, games, hay rides, a petting zoo and a scarecrow parade from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in October.

Take a Stroll at Halloween in the Village

Bring your kids to The Village in Big Bear Lake for some old-fashioned trick or treating fun in Big Bear’s quaint village setting. The free Halloween in the Village event runs from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. The event has more than 50 places for kids wearing costumes to get candy as you walk through the fall-festive Village. Your dogs are always welcome in the Village too! A pet costume contest is planned at The Copper Q restaurant on Pine Knot Avenue in the Village at 4 p.m. For more information, call (909) 878-4747.

Enjoy Big Bear Alpine Zoo Halloween Events

Every Friday and Saturday night in October, Big Bear Alpine Zoo hosts special guided tours at 6:30 p.m. that explore the zoo with Flashlight Safari at the Zoo. Come learn about animals that like to stay active from dusk to dawn and allow zoo tour guides to dispel spooky myths about wolves and other nocturnal animals that roam the zoo at night.

Harvest Treasure with Gold Rush Mining Adventures

Treasure is never out of season and there’s plenty to harvest! Enjoy limited edition games at Gold Rush Mining Co. from 12 to 3 p.m.  every Saturday through Oct. 26.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy seasonal games such as Slay the Dragon, Capture the Shark, Conquer the Volcano, Discover Black Beard’s Treasure and more! Cost is $3 per game and discount packages are available. Be sure not to miss their no-fright Ghost Town for fun photo opportunities!

Gold Rush Mining Co. offers a variety of mining activities as well as unique gift items. Open daily for treasure hunters of all ages.
