Tues, June 7– Farmers Market starting at 8:30am every Tuesday at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center. Every week new vendors are arriving. The selection of fruits, veggies, antiques, shoes, toys, jewelry, etc. is different every week. You wouldn’t want to miss that great deal!
Hike, bike, even skate it. Alpine Pedal Path along the North Shore of beautiful Big Bear Lake offers something for everyone, even those in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller. The 3.5 mile (each way) route that begins at Stanfield Cutoff is paved and basically level with only a few gentle ups and downs, an easy trek for anyone who laces up tennis shoes or inline skates. Along the way incredible views of surrounding mountain peaks, including Snow Summit across the water are featured, and the lake itself is a constant companion, sometimes just a few feet from the path.
Wed June 8– Put on your dancing shoes and join Jon Bonesh and the Big Bear Country Dancers for a night of country dancing fun. Wyatt’s is open from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center. They offer free lessons for the whole family. The Village Theatre in Big Bear Lake is a great way to relax and enjoy a movie. This theater is within walking distance of Big Bear Frontier. Thurs., June 9– Biking enthusiasts! Big Bear Lake has designated several bike trails for bicyclists of every level. Pick up a brochure style map at the City Information Center located on Bartlett Avenue in the village and here’s a link to the paths as well. www.goboguides.com
Fri., June 10– Come to the Village in Big Bear every Friday night from 5-8 PM to enjoy family entertainment, great shopping, restaurants, arts and crafts fair, live music and more. Sat., June 11– Big Bear Choppers ‘Ride the Mountain.’ This is the biggest bike event on the mountain! Motorcycle riders from all over the country will converge on the mountain as the “Ride the Mountain” Bike Show, Concert and Poker Run returns to Snow Summit. The event starts with the Poker Run at 7:00 A.M. at the Big Bear Choppers factory at 41922 Fox Farm Road ($35 per poker hand) and the main event at Snow Summit starts at 10 A.M. $10 general admission and $20 if you plan to enter your bike into competition www.bigbearchoppers.com
Sat. and Sun., June 11 & 12– What would you do with $50K? On June 11 and 12, 2011, Big Bear Lake’s “Fishin’ for $50K” Trout Derby, in Southern California gives anglers the chance to win the big prize of $50,000.
