Weather
Who would have thought it would snow for the Jim Hall Trout Tournament on Sunday? That is exactly what it did! There wasn’t much snow, just enough to make the weather temperatures chilly and form freezing rain on the car windshields. Most certainly it was fishing in the snow for awhile.
For the week of May 16, 2011 the forecast is more of the same. Monday, May 16. 2011 temperatures in the 40’s and the nights will chill down to 20 degrees.
Tuesday, May 17, 2011 is going to be a tough day for the cyclists to ride in the snow. Weather reporter says it “threatens to snow” again. Big Bear Lake forecasting 1” of snow in May 2011, so hopefully, Tuesday will be the last of it.
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 will begin to warm up into the 50’s. Be prepared for below freezing temperatures at night.
Thursday, May 19, 2011 and into the weekend a little bit warmer temperatures for your visit to Big Bear. You’ll want to cycle or fish in that 60 degree sunshine. Hurry because Sunday there is another low pressure system coming in to take us into partly cloudy weather with a high in the 40’s and low in the 20’s for the next week.
Despite the cool temperatures it is lovely weather in Big Bear. Some days are a bit chilly but still sunny, so you should come on up and enjoy the sunshine. Often 60 degrees feels warmer here because of our altitude ranging from 6750 feet to nearly 9000 feet. We’re closer to the sun than those of you that live in lower altitudes!
