Busy weekend at Big Bear Lake!

This is an amazing weekend to be at Big Bear Lake. It seems like everything is opening up or kicking off this weekend! The golf course and Scenic Sky Chair will be enjoying their debuts for the 2012 summer season this weekend. The Amgen Tour will be coming through again for Stage 6, “The Big Bear Climb”, and the 30^th Annual Jim Hall Memorial Trout Classic will be challenging the anglers. And that is just the peak of the mountain!

What to do this week in Big Bear Lake

Scenic Sky Chair is Open!

Weather permitting, this will be the first week the Scenic Sky Chair at Big Bear Lake will be open! It is a mile long ride that gives you an amazing view of the valley, and takes you to hiking trails and other attractions on the mountain. You have the choice of either hiking back down or taking the chair back. All ages are welcome!

National Cycling Race in Big Bear Lake

It is back! Stage 6 of the Amgen Tour of California finishes up at Snow Summit Ski Resort with activities that will go on all day, including a cycling and lifestyle expo. Watching the race is free, and the road is a long one, so there are plenty of places to view it! If you are a cycling enthusiast, or just beginning your journey, this is a great weekend to check it all out.

Fine Cooking Demonstrations

The Copper Q will be having cooking demonstrations from Thursday to Saturday. You get to see the dish being prepared, sample it, and take the recipe home with you. Arrive early, because seating is limited to the first 12 guests, and the dishes being created will be delightful!

There is also the Jim Hall Memorial May Trout Classic, the full opening of the golf course, and dozens of other events! Make sure you have your room reserved for all of the festivities going on this and every week during the spring and summer months.
