Summer “starts” in Big Bear this weekend!
Memorial Day weekend gives you an extra day to relax, walk the trails, play a round of golf, and enjoy all of the wonders of nature that Big Bear Lake has to offer. It also gives you a chance to dust off your finery and get ready for the Miss Clementine Pageant, Wild West Fashion Show, and Prospectors Ball this weekend. And if that is not enough to bring you into the mountains, Swim Beach will be open for the season! With that and all of the other activities Big Bear Lake has to offer, how can you resist?

This Week at Big Bear Lake
Aarons Big Bass Tournaments are going on all summer
If you missed the Jim Hall trout fishing tournament last weekend, have no fear! This weekend, the second Aaron’s Big Bass Tournament date will be this Saturday, May 26th. There is even a list on their site of many of the other fishing events coming through the whole season at Big Bear Lake. And even if you are not coming for the fishing, there is still a chance to enjoy some food from B’s Backyard BBQ!

The Big Bear Old Miners Association is kicking off its season this weekend with the Miss Clementine Pageant. It is happening a little earlier this year, and it is well worth the trip up! And it is not just a competition for the ladies. This year they are introducing the Lucky Baldwin competition, which offers the same prizes and honors Miss Clementine receives. Add a fashion show and “The Saga of Sagebrush Sal,” and you have a full evening of entertainment for the family!
Big Bear’s Swim Beach is open to the public!
Swim Beach will be starting its 2012 season this Memorial Day weekend as well! Open only on the weekends for now, it will be open for full summer hours June 15th. Slides, beaches, shows, a little something for everyone. Get your fix in now, before summer weather really hits and the mountain is packed!
