The smell of snow is in the air and snow is on the ground at Big Bear! Bear Mountain and Snow Summit are open for business for skiing, snowboarding and more. Grab those skis as we teach you how to navigate the slopes of Bear Mountain and Snow Summit.

Bear Mountain
Open since 1940, the slopes of Bear Mountain and Snow Summit have hundreds of acres of skiable terrain and 31 trails covered by a snowmaking system.
Bear Mountain offers 748 acres permitted for skiing and snowboarding. It’s also home to Southern California’s only halfpipes for snowboarders.
Snow Summit
Snow Summit offers a huge Learning Area for families to learn how to ski and also offers night lessons under the lights. Certified instructors can teach anyone a set of skiing and snowboarding skills. Find ski and snowboard lesson pricing and information online.
Snowboarding Parks
Bear Mountain and Snow Summit also offer a variety of snowboarding parks and opportunities to slide in style.
Red Bull Plaza at Bear Mountain is an urban-styled snowboarding park that includes a Hot Dawgs and Hand Rails offering this year.
Freestyle Park offers more jibs, jumps and transition offerings than any snowboarding offering in Southern California. The park has more than 200 acres of winter wonderland for snowboarders, including four pipes (8’, 13’, 18’ and a jib pipe) and more than 100 snow features and jibs that will keep you busy for hours. Enjoy the in-ground superpipe and standard halfpipe too.
Need some practice and some confidence before you head out with your snowboard? Head to Skill Builder Park to get some confidence before you master the pipes with your snowboard.
