The 46th annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest runs for eight consecutive weekends through Oct. 29 at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center, 42900 Big Bear Blvd.
Rated the No. 1 Oktoberfest in Southern California, it is open from noon to midnight on Saturdays and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sundays.
September Crowds Are Lighter
True Bavarian Oktoberfest fans know that the actual Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany starts Sept. 17 and runs through Oct. 3. For Big Bear Oktoberfest lovers, though, September weekends are less crowded. If your idea of a great Oktoberfest is less crowds and less lines, try to come during one of the last two weekends in September. Ticket prices are cheaper in September too.
Pre-Purchase Big Bear Oktoberfest Tickets
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest tickets are on sale now and available for pre-purchase for all weekends. Pre-purchased tickets are limited. A bonus perk of buying tickets early is that ticket holders receive priority entry. September tickets are also considered off-peak tickets and are cheaper than October tickets.

Skip the Ticket Booths for Food
Are you a lover of German cuisine but not a lover of the food ticket lines? Don’t worry. You can also purchase 10-pack Bier booklets and Burgermeister booklets that give you tickets for purchasing food and drinks before you arrive.
You can receive 10 beer tickets for $5, which is a savings of $5, if you buy your beer tickets ahead of time.
Bratwursts, sauerkraut and apple strudel, oh my! Those are just a few of the German cuisine staples available at the Big Bear Oktoberfest. Other German favorites at the festival include:

The festival has German butchers, bakers and beer makers on hand to satisfy all of your German food and drink cravings. There are four ticket windows available on site to purchase food and drink tickets.
German Bier and Wine Offerings
The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest offers 22 different beers in three outside bier gartens and two inside bars. A few of the favorite German beer offerings include Spaten Lager and Warsteiner Pilsner. A variety of German wines are also available.
