Tips for Celebrating Holidays at Big Bear Lake
Santa comes to Big Bear too
Just because you will be away from home does not mean Santa won’t come and visit. For fun, have your children write a letter to tell Santa where they are going to be for Christmas. That way your children know Santa will be informed. Wrap your gifts ahead of time before you get ready to leave for vacation, so you don’t have to worry about them while you are packing for the trip. If you have room in your car, bring a small tree and some decorations, or pick some up here in Big Bear Village to make your cabin or hotel room feel festive for the holiday.
Avoid Stress, be Jolly on the Road
The holidays are always a busy time of year. Remember that even though travelling can be stressful, it is a festive and happy time of the year. Keeping a positive attitude while travelling can help reduce stress on the road or in the air. Stress can be dropped even more by checking all your reservations a day or two in advance, and leaving earlier than you need to so you have time in case there are any unforeseen emergencies. You’ll also want to make sure you have a charger in your pocket or purse. You never know when your phone or other device you need might run out of battery.
Family time at Big Bear
Picture this: you are settled into your cabin at Big Bear Lake, you have all the decorations up, and you can enjoy the best gift of all: spending time with your loved ones. Make sure you bring a camera to take pictures of your ski trips, dinners, natural beauty, and other fun you will have while you are in Big Bear. It is a great time to make memories that will last forever, so go out and explore the area. Your children should understand beforehand that this trip is part of their gifts, so they might be getting fewer gifts from Santa. Just make sure they have a few things to open on Christmas day!
We have plenty of snow on the ground and the cabins are ready and waiting for all of our guests to come and spend a great holiday here. You can start planning your next trip up to the mountains now as a future gift to yourself, but do it soon! January and February will be full of incredible snowboarding events and people trying out all the new equipment they received over the holidays. Happy Holidays and safe travels to all!
