There is a wide variety of categories to enter and look through, including theme arrangements, annuals, blooms, and more. Judging will occur on Friday, and the show will run through Saturday at 2 PM.

Chili Today

Get out the water, the Big Bear Old Miners Chili Cookoff is this weekend! Take some time to show off how well you can make a home made batch by entering it into the competition, or just stop by for the tasting. You can enjoy Red Chili and Chili Verde recipes, as well as some Homemade Salsa. Not only will there be Chili, but the Old Miners Carnival will have extended hours! To finish off the big day, Brent Payne and Dakota will be in concert that evening for a Boot Scootin’ Barn Dance!

Big Bear Summer Theater Starts

This Thursday the Big Bear Summer Theater Festival begins with a presentation of Clarence Darrow, a play that takes a look at the life of America’s most famous lawyer. On Friday, you can see the opening of Belle, first baby of Big Bear, a play based on the history of Big Bear Lake! Both plays will be running through the end of July, giving you a great opportunity to support live theater.
