Mindy Abair will be in Big Bear this weekend. Will you?

Summer officially starts this Wednesday! We are all early birds, though, and have been celebrating it for a few weeks. The weather is still looking delightful for all of the outdoor activities the Southern California mountains have to offer, or for relaxing and reading a book by the lake.

This week there are lots of arts events happening around Big Bear, keep reading for more info below.

This Week in Big Bear Lake

Buy local

Every Tuesday at the Big Bear Farmer’s Market you can see all of the fine produce and quality crafts the region has to offer. There are plenty of reasons to shop at local farmer’s markets, supporting the local economy and buying fresh and seasonal foods for your home cooked meals are only a few of them. See what you can discover this and every Tuesday all summer long!

Support live theater

A tale loosely based on real events in Siam, The King and I became a hit at the box office in 1956, winning six Oscars.  Presented by the Big Bear Vally Community Arts Theater Society, this performance features a stellar cast from the area, including Robin Field as the King and Diana Hintergardt as Ms Anna. The musical will run through July 8th, but a show of this caliber will sell out quickly, so make sure you get your tickets soon.

JazzTrax 7th Annual Summer Music Festival

A floating stage and three days of stellar music will be showcased this year at the 7th annual Big Bear Lake JazzTrax Summer Music Festival! Each day offers up a different group of national and international acts, with after parties going into the wee hours on Friday and Saturday night. Friday night will also have special boat tours for guests!

If you want a great place to rest during all of this, we have some great Big Bear cabins and hotel rooms waiting for you. Open up the windows to let the cool mountain air in and relax during the summer months. We can’t wait to see you!
