Spring is in the Air

The winter season is starting to wind down (ignoring the huge amounts of snow we received over the weekend), and we are starting to see more signs of spring. The Big Bear Farmer’s Market is open again, offering fresh local fare to all of our visitors, and hiking tours are starting up. We still have a few days of skiing left on the mountain before we get out our bicycles, so take a look at what Big Bear has to offer this week.

What to do in Big Bear Lake this week
Visit the Farmer’s Market
Enjoy farm fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers all summer long. The Farmer’s Market at the Big Bear Convention Center is open every Tuesday through September 25th. Also enjoy unique arts, crafts and handmade items by local artisans. The outdoor market opens at 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Check out the High Desert Farmer’s Market for great recipes and cooking demonstration times and dates at the market. You can also like them on Facebook, and see what the vendors are up to.
Enjoy a hike in the Big Bear Mountains
Spring is here and the Big Bear Discovery Center is in full swing for nature activities! Every Saturday at 1:00 PM and 2 PM, and Sunday at 11:00 AM and noon, join the guided nature walk for a light workout while learning about all of the plants and animals that call the Big Bear region home. You can also take a look at the calendar to see other events you can participate in while exploring.
Last call for skiing in Big Bear this year
This could be your last chance to hit the slopes or go sledding in Big Bear for the season! We got about 24 inches of snow over the weekend, so the resort can stay open for a few extra days. Go to www.bigbearmountainresorts.com and www.alpineslidebigbear.com for rates and hours for this final week of snow fun.
Happy Spring!
