Happy Birthday America! What a better way to celebrate the upcoming birthday of the United States of America than at Big Bear Lake, where pioneers worked to search for gold and help settle the American Frontier. We’ve got the tips you need to enjoy a wonderful Fourth of July weekend at Big Bear while you do some boating, fishing and hiking in the mountains.

Big Bear 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular
You made the right decision to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend at Big Bear Lake. The biggest fireworks display in Southern California is right here at Big Bear Lake. The Big Bear 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular begins between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. July 4 on the lake. A barge will unleash a myriad of bright red, blue and white fireworks into the sky, illuminating both the lake and the mountain background in a sea of patriotic colors. The fireworks show is free and those in attendance can see the fireworks from any spot near the lake and in any of Big Bear’s public parks. No personal fireworks are allowed so keep them home and leave the fireworks to the professionals. Weather Tip: Be sure to bring a jacket because it can get chilly at night on Big Bear Lake in the summer.
