You made the right decision to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend at Big Bear Lake. The biggest fireworks display in Southern California is right here at Big Bear Lake. The Big Bear 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular begins between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. July 4 on the lake. A barge will unleash a myriad of bright red, blue and white fireworks into the sky, illuminating both the lake and the mountain background in a sea of patriotic colors. The fireworks show is free and those in attendance can see the fireworks from any spot near the lake and in any of Big Bear’s public parks. No personal fireworks are allowed so keep them home and leave the fireworks to the professionals. Weather Tip: Be sure to bring a jacket because it can get chilly at night on Big Bear Lake in the summer.
Fourth of July Barbecue Party
Don’t worry about bringing along your own barbecue favorites this Fourth of July. The Rotary Club of Big Bear has you covered with its Fourth of July Lakefront Fireworks and Barbecue event, which starts at noon July 4 at the Marina Resort on Big Bear Boulevard. Options include a hamburger, hot dog, tri-tip sandwich, barbecue ribs or chicken meal. Prices for meals range from $27 to $34 and there are reserved seating options still available. Bring your own chairs and stay in your seats until the fireworks show begins around 8:45 p.m. on Big Bear Lake. No ice chests, alcohol or pets are allowed. July 4th Farmers Market & Old Fashioned Country Fair
Looking for your dinner or an apple pie on the Fourth of July? Head to the July 4th Farmers Market & Old Fashioned Country Fair at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4. Above the Boom Fourth of July Event
Want to enjoy the Fourth of July from a whole new altitude level? The Snow Summit’s Above the Boom Fireworks Viewing Party features a catered fireworks viewing party. Jump on the Snow Summit’s Scenic Sky Chair as you climb 82,000 feet up to enjoy a Fourth of July full of food and fireworks. The event starts at 5 p.m. with a Southern-style fully-catered barbecue dinner while live music plays. The event also includes a complimentary glass of champagne when the fireworks start. Captain John’s Independence Day Extravaganza
Looking for a reggae-themed Fourth of July party? That’s what you’ll get at the Independence Day Extravaganza at Captain John’s Fawn Harbor and Marina. The all-day free party allows patrons to start claiming spots on the beach at 7 a.m. Bring your own barbecue or purchase a Hawaiian barbecue from Tropical Barbecue on the beach near Big Bear Lake. Bring your chairs, beach blankets and umbrellas to make it comfortable while you wait for the evening fireworks to begin and listen to live reggae music. Fourth of July Miss Liberty Cruise
Do you have the urge to watch the fireworks while you’re on Big Bear Lake? You can board the Miss Liberty Paddlewheel Tour Boat at Pine Knot Marina to watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July Miss Liberty Cruise. The cruise, which costs $100 per person, includes a buffet dinner, one non-alcoholic drink ticket, party favors and light hors d’oeuvres. Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks can be purchased for cash only in the galley. Boarding begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp and the boat departs the dock at 8 p.m. July 4.
