We’re at the tail end of winter here in Big Bear.  Have you made  your reservation to spend a long weekend with us yet?  Speaking about long weekends, Valentine’s Day is coming up right around the corner, which has many people asking us where they can find romantic spots to eat in Big Bear.  We’ve gathered some of our best suggestions for a romantic date with your “beary” special someone.

Romantic Big Bear Restaurants

Winner of the 2014 OpenTable Diners’ Choice award in Big Bear, the Peppercorn Grille is definitely a date night must.  This intimate eatery boasts fine dining with beautiful views of the Village.  Try delicious favorites like the Peppercorn Signature Clam Chowder, or any of the delicious steaks on the menu.  If you go, do make a reservation on their website; the restaurant’s popularity means heading out without one could mean waiting.

If a rustic Italian dish is what you’re craving, dive in to a dish at the Sweet Basil Bistro.  With a menu that encompasses standard Italian fare done deliciously and then some unexpected delights like the dolci (mini donuts), you and your significant other will be sure to find something that pleases the palette!  A notable dish to try:  the lobster lasagna!

If you’re looking for dinner with a spectacular view of Big Bear Lake then definitely partake in the cuisine at The Pines Lakefront.   Featuring a variety of delicious steaks, seafood, and salad entrees, there is surely something to please everyone.  The best benefit beyond the view?  The Pines Lakefront offers “Dock & Dine” for those that wish to arrive via the Lake.

Looking for something different for dinner?  Try the Himalayan Restaurant.   This quaint little dining spot features Nepalese and Indian cuisine.  If you go, definitely try the chicken mo mo!

Romantic Places to Picnic at Big Bear

Looking for more of a natural setting for your romantic repast?  The best place for picnics by Big Bear Lake is definitely Boulder Bay Park.   With picturesque views and beautiful rock formations throughout, this is the perfect place to relax lakeside with a meal.  The park has picnic tables on-site and plenty of public parking available.

Another great area for picnicking is Grout Bay Picnic area.  The area features beautiful views, and plenty of picnic tables, however it is closed December to March.  If you go, remember to get your Adventure Pass for parking.
