We’ve been thoroughly enjoying this season here at Big Bear Frontier and know you will, too. If you haven’t spent a weekend with us fishing, skiing, snowboarding or exploring the area surrounding Big Bear Lake yet then make your reservation today!
Often times we get inquiries about what family friendly activities Big Bear has in the area. One of our favorite responses is to take the whole crew out to the Big Bear Discovery Center. The center is an excellent launch point for your hiking adventure with free parking during the daytime and clean restrooms. You may also purchase parking passes for trailhead parking areas at the center. National Forest Adventure Passes are also available for purchase here; these give you access to a multitude of parks in the Southern California area for either a $5 daily fee or $30 for the year.
In addition to information and maps about local trails, the center features educational programs throughout the year. It is very kid-friendly, with small trails directly outside and educational activities inside and out.
The top notch winter attraction at the center is the guided snowshoe eco-tour. Join a knowledgeable guide as you take to the snow-covered trails in the San Bernardino National Forest and learn about the local ecology while soaking in the breathtaking views. The tours are for ages 8 and up, and include snowshoe rental. Tour size is limited and reservations are required in advance.
Visiting the center in the warmer months? Be sure to catch a performance from the Music in the Mountains concert series. Located in the outdoor amphitheater, these live music events are the perfect way to end a Big Bear day.
Think you’ll be a frequent flyer? The center offers up memberships ranging from $50 to $1,000 that give you discounts on programs, admissions, and more.
We hope this inspires an activity during your Big Bear getaway. Make your reservation today; we can’t wait to see you!
