Thanksgiving Day Eats at Big Bear Lake

Cool weather means great fishing!  Spend the day out on the lake fishing the abundant trout and bass that swim through the calm lake waters.  Local marinas and boat rentals are open throughout November.

Thinking of just taking it easy?  Don’t worry.  Many of Big Bear’s local restaurants are open Thanksgiving Day.  A local favorite, the Peppercorn Grille, is open from 12 to 8 pm Thanksgiving Day and is offering the full dinner menu plus a roast turkey special.  Looking for something a bit more casual?  Murray’s Saloon and Eatery is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner until 7 pm or until supplies run out.  Just don’t forget to pair your turkey with their renowned jalapeno poppers—they’ll be serving the standard menu all day!

If you’re looking to stay outside the box this Thanksgiving, local favorites like Dynasty and Royal Thai Café are open normal business hours.

Thanksgiving Events at Big Bear Lake

Are you ready to burn those turkey calories?  Then sign up for the Big Bear Turkey Trot!  Thanksgiving Day you can run out that pumpkin pie with 3, 6, or 9 mile routes, while competing for Best Costume.  Need some help narrowing down your costume choices?  Best Turkey and Best Bear have prizes all their own!  Once you’ve secured your victory, you can rest assured that the turkey you win will fit nicely in the oven of your Big Bear Frontier cabin.

The fun doesn’t end on Turkey Day!  Head over to The Convention Center for the Mountain Christmas Boutique to get all your holiday shopping done.  Then join everyone at the Village at Big Bear Lake for Santa’s Grand Entrance and the Tree Lighting festivities at the Christmas Tree Lot!  Entertainment begins at 5 pm on the 27^th.
