Join us for the 8th Annual Big Bear PaddleFest on Saturday, July 18th at 7 a.m. on Big Bear Lake for competitive races and water activities on paddle crafts including:
- Canoes
- Kayaks
- Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP)
Spectators and participants are invited to celebrate this seasonal event with a big ole’ beach bash on the lake at Big Bear Frontier! Stay with us in our spacious lakeside cabins and cozy mountain view hotel accommodations. Available for this can’t-miss summertime event.

Register & Participate in PaddleFest
If you plan on participating in PaddleFest, registration begins on the day of the event at 6 a.m. or you can register online to receive a race swag bag stuffed with exclusive goodies! Registration includes your vessel lake permit.
All participants must bring a paddle craft and complete a Quagga Mussel Inspection. If you do not have your own paddle craft but would like to participate, you can book a rental.
The PaddleFest Races
There are races for all ages and skill levels. Participants can choose to participate in a 20K, 10K or 5K. Everyone is a winner at this event!
The 20K
For those who are experienced paddlers or who are looking to break a serious sweat can look forward to paddling the 20K course that starts at The Pines Lakefront and winds around the scenic Big Bear Lake.
The 10K
Not sure you are up for that kind of challenge? Paddle your way to victory in the 10K, which also starts at The Pines Lakefront, winds east towards the Stanfield Cutoff and ends back west on The Pines Lakefront shore.
The 5K
Are you looking for a recreational rush of fun? Register for the 5K, but be sure to practice those turns because this race is set on technical course that takes you back and fourth, between floating markers on the lake!
SUP PaddleFest Activities
If long distance races and trail paddling aren’t your forte, sign up for a SUP PaddleFest Activity including:
- SUP Yoga
- Relay Races
- Paddling Clinics
The paddling clinics are great for novice paddlers who want to prefect there turning abilities and those who would like to try paddle boarding for the first time. There are two sessions:
- Adults (ages 15 & up) at 11 a.m.
- Kids (ages 8-15) at 1 p.m.
Family Fun at PaddleFest
And why not make the day a family affair? The kids can participate in Kids Fun Race for ages 5-12 and the Kids Bear Challenge Race for SUP’s under 12’6″ in length. Age categories include:
- Ages 8 & under
- Ages 9-11
- Ages 12-14
- Ages 15-17
Beach Party & Vendor Expo
For those that just want to hang out together and enjoy the fun be sure to attend the Beach Party, which kicks off after the awards ceremony. Enjoy great food, beer and even horseshoes while listening to music on the beach at Big Bear Lake.
You also don’t want to miss the Vendor Expo, featuring some of the top outdoor sporting and fitness retailers and supporters!
