Bald Eagle Count and Celebration
Enjoy nature and the cool holiday air while helping to count the country’s national bird. Volunteer and help the U.S. Forest Service count the bald eagles wintering in the San Bernardino National Forest. All volunteer eagle counters need to meet at the Big Bear Discovery Center between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. The count begins at 10 a.m. After the count, enjoy a one-hour Bald Eagle Celebration presentation of eagles 11 a.m. Dec. 10. You will find out why eagles choose to winter in Big Bear Valley too.
Christmas in the Village with Santa and Mrs. Claus
The Village of Big Bear Lake is hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Christmas Tree Lot 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 and every Saturday and Sunday until Dec. 24. Come see Santa and do some shopping at the decorated Big Bear Lake Village. For more information, call (909) 878-4747.
Rail Jam Snowboarding
Nothing says Christmas time in Big Bear like fresh snow and snowboarding! Bear Mountain is hosting the USASA Rail Jam snowboarding competition 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. Santa Comes to Snow Summit
Santa is heading to the slopes! Come see Santa at Snow Summit and get your picture taken from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. Admission is free and open to everyone. Santa will return Dec. 24 too at the same time. For more information, call (909) 866-5766.
