Do you feel a slight change in temperature at Big Bear Lake? The nights are getting cooler and Mother Nature is starting to remind us that the fall season is approaching. There’s still some time left to enjoy Big Bear Lake, the golf courses and the mountain trails in September though. When you escape to the lake to get away, we’ll show you what’s happening in September at Big Bear Lake.
Big Bear Kids Adventure Games at Snow Summit
If you plan on being in town this Labor Day weekend, don’t miss the first ever Big Bear Kids Adventure Games at Snow Summit, which runs from noon Saturday, Sept. 3 and continues until 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4. It will feature a kid-sized adventure race, with teams of two navigating a natural terrain obstacle course. For kids ranging in age from 6 to 14, the kids will learn teamwork skills in an outdoor experience. Parts of the course include mountain biking, hiking, zip lining, a giant Slip-n-Slide, river tubing and more.
Big Bear Airport Young Eagles Program
Have your kids always wanted to fly? Make that dream a reality by enrolling them in the Big Bear Airport Young Eagles Program, where kids fly free 9 a.m. to noon Saturday Sept. 10. Children between the ages of 8 and 17 are given a free airplane ride around Big Bear Lake by pilots from the Pilot’s Association of Big Bear.
Each child is given a pre-flight review of the basics of flight training and the main part of the plane prior to flight. For additional information, read about the flight experience and contact Richard Schmidt at (909) 547-0832.

Who’s ready to celebrate German style family fun and food? The 46th annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest, rated the No. 1 Oktoberfest in Southern California, opens noon to midnight Saturday, Sept. 10 and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11.
