What to do in Big Bear Lake | January 30 – February 5, 2012

Once again we had the pleasure of having fitness model Rob Riches stay with us over the weekend while filming his series on high altitude training. Rob went back to the Grizzly Manor for some more of their famous pancakes and he took the camera out on his snowboarding session, which we’ve shared on our Facebook page. As Rob discovered while he was here, the weather has been great for skiing and snowboarding! It looks like that will continue this week. Come on up and enjoy the slopes!

Big Bear WinterFest 2012

XOS Productions are going all out for their First Annual Big Bear WinterFest 2012. This outdoor tented party on February 3-5 will be held in the Village of Big Bear Lake, right next to the Big Bear Frontier. The doors open Friday and Saturday at 5p.m. for a DJ Concert featuring Tatiana Fontes, Revolvr, and Kristina Sky, with many more artists to make appearances. $1 of each ticket sold will benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer.

From 11a.m.-6p.m. on Saturday, February 4, the festival will include food, music, vendors, interactive games, snow play, and activities for kids. Admission is FREE for Saturday daytime events.

The main attraction on Saturday is the XOS Rail Jam from 3:30PM – 7:00PM, which leads right into the start of the tented concert. The XOS Rail Jam is a fun battle of guys vs. girls in a snowboarding rail jam format, designed to raise awareness for breast cancer and the value of living an active lifestyle. Don’t miss out on your chance to win some cool prizes and to see some awesome stuff go down. To learn more about the XOS Rail Jam visit http://www.powdermag.com/stories/battle-of-the-sexes-winterfest-is-feb-3-4-at-big-bear-lake/

We have rooms and cabins available this weekend and we’re walking distance from WinterFest. Come on up and enjoy the festival!
