It looks like we will have another week of beautiful Southern California weather! Come enjoy the moderate temperatures, but remember to bring a jacket or sweatshirt because the evenings have been cooling down here in Big Bear Lake.

What to do this week in Big Bear

Monday, August 29- The Big Bear Cycling Association hosts bicycle rides nearly every day in Big Bear. Check their website for categories, times and places to register and begin the races. Prizes and awards will be given on Sunday. Don’t miss this fun cycling event.

Tuesday, August 30- The Big Bear Farmers Market starts at 8:30 am every Tuesday at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center. The selection of fruits, veggies, antiques, shoes, toys, jewelry, etc. is different every week. Enjoy the bounty of the Big Bear region!

Wednesday, August 31- Hike, bike, even skate it. The Alpine Pedal Path along the North Shore of beautiful Big Bear Lake offers something for everyone, even those in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller. The 3.5 mile (each way) route that begins at Stanfield Cutoff is paved and level with only a few gentle ups and downs, an easy trek for anyone who laces up tennis shoes or inline skates. Along the way enjoy incredible views of surrounding Southern California mountain peaks, including Snow Summit across the water are featured, and the lake itself is a constant companion, sometimes just a few feet from the path.

Thursday, September 1- Friday, September 2- Enjoy family entertainment every Friday night from 5-8 PM including great shopping, restaurants, arts and crafts fair, live music and more in Big Bear Lake Friday Nights in the Village.

Saturday, September 3- Ice Cream Safari at the Moonridge Animal Park. Starting at 11 A.M., you’re all invited to a tasty adventure in Moonridge Animal Park. In addition to park entry fee purchase one or more tickets for $5.00 each and get 5 scoops of ice cream. Five Ice Cream Stations, each with a different flavor, are located throughout the park. Visit www.moonridgezoo.org for more information on this yummy event.

Saturday and Sunday, September 4- 10a.m.-5p.m If you’re looking for a great way to celebrate this Labor Day Weekend with family fun, arts & crafts, great food and live entertainment including ‘Silver Moon’, and ‘Skeleton Key’, head over to the Big Bear Convention Center for the Fall Festival.  Crafters and artists sell goods and demonstrate their fine-tuned crafts. Browse for handcrafted gems like hand-carved bears, handmade dolls, hand-thrown pottery, homemade jams and unique wire-wrapped jewelry. There will be rides, pony rides, face painting, and airbrush tattoo’s for everyone to enjoy. This event will be great fun for the whole family.
